The Second Mortgage Banker recently introduced a non prime 2nd mortgage loan that is designed to help consumers with past credit problems and low fico scores obtain a subordinate loan for cash out or bill consolidation. According to loan officer Drew Christie, “This loan gives homeowners another chance to rebuild their credit while financing home improvements that potentially could help them increase the value of their property.” We know sometimes consumers have to deal with issues in their life that causes them to be late on a credit card bill. If this consumer has demonstrated that they have rebounded then the Second Mortgage Banker believes this borrower should be given another opportunity with a cash our loan.
Many subprime borrowers have the opportunity to escape the subprime labeling if they consolidate their high interest credit cards and open trade lines. Quite often refinancing revolving debt will result in a dramatic increase in fico score. A few months after the consolidation, these borrowers may be rewarded with higher credit scores that now qualify them for a "prime" rate loan.
